Robotic Mission to Mars
This site is designed for secondary students undertaking the Challenge & Enrichment Robotic Mission to Mars.
Welcome!
The goal of your Robotic Mission to Mars is to explore a small patch of Mars and make a recommendation that it should or should not be considered as a landing place for the first humans on Mars.
Now that you have decided to join the science and engineering teams in Mission Control, you will need information to help you chose your role, become trained for your tasks and complete the sign-up process.
Do you want to be a scientist or an engineer?
Either way, you will be part of a tight knit team: talking, arguing and cooperating to complete your mission with the Mars rover.
You will select a role from the range of scientists or engineers and undertake the necessary background briefing.
To help us build a complete team you will be asked for three preferences. You can chose any three from the twelve possible roles.
Enter your three choices when you sign up.
Your team will be responsible for controlling the Rover, monitoring environmental conditions, maintaining communications with Earth, and achieving the Mission's scientific goals of collecting samples and data.
You have pre-mission access to the Mission Control Database Library.
Good luck!
