THE MISSION - Background Briefing
The main goals of this Mission are to:
Explore the area immediately around the Rover,
Create a Survey Map, and
Investigate rocks and soil for evidence of water.
This Mission will investigate the Martian climate and geology and determine whether life ever evolved on Mars.
To successfully complete this Mission, Mission Control must:
Remain in constant radio communications with Mars
Monitor Space Weather and Martian environment for potential hazards
Monitor the Rover for Performance and Safety
Maintain a power budget for the Rover
Navigate and safely drive the Rover
Deploy scientific instruments as determined by science team
