Thermal - Safety Parameters

The Rover is equipped with heaters that draw electrical power from the batteries. There are thermostats and heat switches to monitor temperature and turn the heaters on and off.

To prevent overheating, the Rover uses a mechanically pumped fluid system known as the Heat Rejection System. As the fluid is pumped through the Rover's body, it picks up the internal heat and releases it by convection into the outside atmosphere.

The Rover's components must be kept within a safe temperature range by switching on heating and cooling system as necessary.
